The old man drank the booze,
he was crying too
No one saw him drop a tear because
he’d run out of juice,
yeah he had run out of juice.
Now, I fly looking for my muse,
but there’s just a crowe or two
Hell must be eternal wait between
heaven and a better room,
hey Joe! I need some better room!
And I say: I’ll reach there… but no I won’t!
And I feel: I’m the wild one… but no I’m not!
You lost joy in your feet,
you can no longer taste the meet…
You ate it, swallowed it,
fed your body but
now is time to shit, yeah!
It is now time to shit!
If you know you’re gonna lose, and that you’ll can’t refuse
Let’s destroy this goddamn punk and shout:
I love the blues! Hey Joe! I do love the blues!
I mean it! I love the blues, yeh…
As these psychedelic folk rockers from Glasgow apparently like to play with dark-light contrasts, Lucid Sins is indeed a well chosen band name. My normal go-to address for this kind of music with a pleasant retro-flair, is Chris Wade's Dodson & Fogg but by good luck I stumbled over these guys, who deliver comparable goods, though a good deal harder hitting and with infectious grooves. The drivin Hidden in the Dark is another favourite. Carsten Pieper
Sounds like The Animals fused with the White Stripes. Great sound! Sadly, they seem headed a different direction with their new album, not so much to my liking. Lute FP
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
A slow drip of Tropicália-infused psychedelia from New Orleans rock outfit Blue Basin: balmy one moment, aggressive the next. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 22, 2022
